DAYTON, Ohio (10/16/2018) -- Sophomore
Alexa Hatz finished just outside the top 20 and the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team nearly missed a top-five finish as the Titans ended their fall season at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday.
Detroit Mercy posted a 314 for the second-straight day to record a 628 for eighth place, just seven shots out of the top five at the par 70, 5,869-yard NCR Country Club's North Course.
Hatz carded a career-best 154 (74-80) for a share of 22nd, while sophomore
Kendall Payne was right behind her with a career-low 155 (76-79), good for 28th overall.
Sophomore
Shana Murphy tallied a career-low 76 in round two and tied for 33rd with a career-best 157 (81-76) and redshirt sophomore
Julia Shaw totaled a 162 (83-79) for 44th, tying her career-best 36-hole card.Â
Detroit Mercy will now get back to training as it prepares for the spring championship season.

- Hatz and Murphy tied for the team lead with three birdies apiece
