DETROIT (2/9/18) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team surged past Chicago State, 6-1, on a snowy Friday morning from Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield, Mich.
The Titans (3-2) surged back after the shorthanded Cougars (1-4) took the doubles point to sweep singles and record their third-consecutive victory.

Artem Vasheshnikov defeated Chicago State's Felix Savard, 6-2 and 6-3 from No. 1 singles.

Nathan Ponton bounced back after dropping a 3-6 opening set at No. 2 to record a win with wins of 6-3 and 10-5.

Alvaro Arce cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 over George Botha.

Adam Zychowicz picked up a win in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3, at No. 4 over Christian Gonzalez.
