Bowling Green, Ohio (9/23/18) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team wrapped up its second tournament of the 2018-19 season on Sunday at the Bowling Green Invitational.
The hidden dual formatted tournament at Cardinal Creek Tennis Center matched the Titans up with the likes of Bowling Green, Dayton and Murray State.
The Titans went 2-2 in both singles and doubles to close the tournament with a winning record as Detroit Mercy went 3-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles on Friday.
Sophomore
Jasmine Apawti picked up a win at No. 1 singles against Murray State's Sharapova, 6-0 and 7-5, while
Chelsea Apawti picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Murray State's Masson at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, the Apawti sisters picked up a 6-1 win over Dayton at No. 1 and
Iris Thioux and
Ksenia Providokhina won 6-3 at No. 2.
The Titans return to the court this week as the squad hosts Bowling Green, Case Western and Oakland in the Detroit Mercy Invite.
