DETROIT (9/29/18) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team closed its home tournament on a high note by sweeping singles in the squad's final matchup of the Detroit Mercy Invite on Saturday afternoon from the Titan Tennis Courts.
After two rounds of doubles against Oakland and Bowling Green in the morning, the Titans went 4-0 in singles against Case Western.
Sophomore
Jasmine Apawti picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win over Paolucci from No. 1, followed by a 6-4, 6-2 win for
Iris Thioux over Liu at No. 2.
Chelsea Apawti earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Georgiades at No. 6, before
Ksenia Providokhina closed the day with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Mukhund at No. 5.
The singles victories gave Thioux and Providokhina two wins on the day, as the duo had picked up a 6-1 win over Oakland in doubles to start the day.
