OLEAN, N.Y. (2/17/19) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team completed a 2-0 weekend with a 6-1 win over Niagara University at the SBU Fitness Center on Sunday.
 
The Titans took the lead early on with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles, before powering past the Purple Eagles with five singles wins.
 
Detroit Mercy improves to 3-2 with the win, while Niagara falls to 1-6.
 
MATCH SUMMARY

• Niagara won at No. 1 doubles, but Iris Thioux and Sophie Torcello picked up a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and Ksenia Providokhina and Sara Mitrakovic won 6-4 at No. 3
• Jasmine Apawti won at No. 1 singles – 6-3, 7-6 (8-6)
• Iris Thioux won at No. 2 singles – 6-4, 6-3
• Chelsea Apawti won at No. 3 sinlges – 7-6, 0-6, 6-4
