AKRON, Ohio (2/23/19) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team earned a split in a doubleheader from Latuchie Tennis Center in Akron on Saturday.
The Titans dropped a 6-1 decision to Akron in the morning, but bounced back with a 4-1 win over Binghamton on Saturday night.
Iris Thioux provided Detroit Mercy's lone win in the morning, a grueling three-set win at No. 2 singles. The Titans caught fire in the afternoon, piling up a convincing win against the Bearcats.
Detroit Mercy won or led in five singles matches before clinching the 4-1 victory.
With the split, the Titans move to 4-3 on the season. Detroit Mercy returns to action tomorrow night at home against Findlay. Doubles is set to begin at 6 p.m. from Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield, Mich.
