HOMEWOOD, Ill. (3/9/19) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team was edged, 4-3, on the road at Eastern Illinois on Saturday evening from H-F Racquet Club.
 
The Titans won the doubles point, but EIU rallied to take the match with the decisive edge in singles. The loss snaps Detroit Mercy's four-game win streak as the Titans move to 7-4 on the season. Meanwhile, Eastern Illinois improves to 8-5.

Iris Thioux and Sophie Torcello picked up a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles to highlight the start of the match.
 
Ksenia Providokhina outlasted Claire Martin in three sets for the victory at No. 4 singles – 6-4, 4-6 and 7-5.
 
Detroit Mercy returns to action Sunday morning at Chicago State.
