Alexa Hatz Makes A Run To Sweet 16 At Michigan Women's Amateur Championship

DETROIT (8/9/2019) -- University of Detroit Mercy women's golf junior Alexa Hatz got ready for her third collegiate season by advancing to the final 16 at the 103rd Michigan Women's Amateur Championship.

The event is being held at Spring Lake Country Club in Spring Lake, Michigan. 

Hatz made it to match play after tying for 19th in stroke play with a 157 (77-80). In the first round of match play, she eliminated Morgan Janke-Wolff, 5 & 4, before falling in the round of 16, 4 & 3.

Hatz started all eight tournaments for the Titans last season and led the team with a career-best 81.00 average. She won her first-ever collegiate event by claiming the Mastodon Spring Invite with a career-low 152 (76-76). 

Juniors Elle Greenlee and Kendall Payne also participated in the historic tournament.
