
DETROIT (12/16/23) – First-year Head Coach
Dan Vitale has announced the 2024 softball schedule. Detroit Mercy will play a 13-game home slate at Buysse Ballpark after opening the 2024 campaign with a 17-game road swing at the first of three consecutive tournaments beginning in Bowling Green, Ky. at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Classic (Feb. 23-25).
The Titans then head to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the Middle Tennessee State (MTSU) Invitational (Mar. 1-5). After a doubleheader at Tennessee State (Mar. 6), UDM heads further down South to Florence, Ala. for the University of North Alabama (UNA) Tournament (Mar. 8-10).
Detroit Mercy closes out their road swing with a #HLSB opening series at Youngstown State (Mar. 15-16) followed by a non-conference game at in-state rival and Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan (Mar. 20).
The Titans welcome the Colonials from Robert Morris to Buysse Ballpark for the #HLSB home-opening series (Mar. 22-23) and then travel to their second MAC opponent Bowling Green (Mar. 30) for a doubleheader to close out the month of March.
UDM resumes league play in April with a six-game road swing starting with a series at IUPUI (Apr. 5-6) followed by the annual Metro Series showdown at arch-rival and 2023 #HLSB runner-up Oakland (Apr. 9-10).
Detroit Mercy returns home for a seven-game stand beginning with a league series against Cleveland State (Apr. 13-14) followed by the third and final MAC opponent in Toledo (Apr. 18) and concludes with a league set against Purdue Fort Wayne (Apr. 19-20).
The Titans travel to Highland Heights, Ky. for a series against 2023 defending #HLSB Champions Northern Kentucky (Apr. 26-27).
UDM then returns to Buysse Ballpark for a league series finale against Green Bay (May 3-4).
The top six teams during the league season qualify for the 2024 Horizon League Championships held May 8-11.
