Ariel Chang carded an even-par 72 and is just two shots off the lead as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team started play at the Lady Jaguar Invitational on Saturday.
As a team, the Titans are tied for sixth with a 309 at the par-72, 6,180-yard Plum Creek Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana, just six strokes out of second and 12 behind first-place IUPUI.
Chang started the day with two birdies in her first three holes and then tallied two more with nine pars for her 72.
Freshman
Kyla Charlebois posted a season-low 77 for a share of 21st place. She started her opening 18 with five-straight pars and knocked in 14 on the day.
Junior
Sophia Ubaydi is tied for 30th with a 78 as she tallied 11 pars and a birdie and senior
Sydney Bradford is in 49th with an 82.
