Taylor Kondel won her last four holes for a comeback victory and sophomore
Gabriella Tapp took her match as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team downed Green Bay to wrap up play at Central Michigan's Motor City Match-Up on Tuesday.
The event had the women and men play together in a match-up format and saw the Titans edged by Green Bay, 6.5-5.5, at the par 72, 6,678-yard Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan.
The women took care of business on their side with a 3.5-2.5 triumph.Â
Kondel was trailing her contest at the top spot by three holes with four left, but she then won 6, 7, 8 and 9 for the win.Â
Tapp led for much of the match in the second spot and put it away with a birdie on hole eight for the victory.
Junior
Kyla Charlebois earned a share of a point at No. 4 as she halved her match-up by splitting the last three holes.
The Titans also won a point at No. 6 by default.Â
For the men, sophomore Gowtham Nalluri was the lone winner on the men's side, while senior Marko Banic and sophomore Mason Sokolowski recorded ties in their matches.
The event was the final of the fall season.Â
