YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (2/24/2024) -- Graduate senior
Allison Sherman set another career mark and the Titans got points in the high jump and 4x400 as the University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team wrapped up the Horizon League Indoor Championships on Sunday.
Sherman posted a career time of 9:51.51 in the 3,000-meters for fourth and the second-best run in school history, trailing only Kim Hemstreet's 9:47.13 in 2003. On day one, she was fourth in the 5,000m in a school-record 16:47.58.
Sophomores
Jada Clark and
Zoe Morris both tied for sixth in the high jump with a 1.56m mark, while the quartet of sophomores
McKenzie McNitt and
Gracelyn Peebles and freshmen
Kayla Wize and
Gabriela Gashaj placed sixth in 3:57.83 in the 4x400-meter relay.Â
Detroit Mercy finished eighth as a team with 26 points.Â
That will conclude the indoor season. The outdoor schedule will be posted next week.Â
