DETROIT (8/26/2024) -- Former University of Detroit Mercy women's golf coach
Terri Anthony-Ryan was recently inducted into the Michigan Women's Golf Association Hall Of Fame.
She was part of a six-member 2024 class.
Ryan led the Titans from 2005-2018 and in her 13 years, guiding the program to three Horizon League Championships and three runner-up efforts. UDM won the first title in school history in 2010 and then claimed back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014.
The 2012-13 team was one of the best teams in school history as the squad tied a NCAA record with nine wins. The 2012-13 Titans featured five players who tallied an average in the 70's as UDM won the league title and advanced to the NCAA Central Regional Championships.
During her time at Detroit Mercy, she was named the Horizon League Coach of the Year three times, coached 22 All-Conference selections, 15 All-Horizon League Tournament honorees, 22 Academic All-Americans, three Horizon League medalist and three HL Player and Newcomers of the Year. Her teams secured 22 tournament titles, while individuals have captured 24 medalist honors.
The Titans also did the work in the classroom, taking home the Team Excellence Awards for having the highest cumulative team GPA at the University six times (2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2018). In addition to winning the Detroit Mercy Team Excellence Award, the women's golf team was also recognized with the Horizon League "Raise Your Sights" award on seven occasions, recognizing the highest men's and women's team GPAs for Horizon League-sponsored sports.
