DETROIT (12/5/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team opened the indoor season with eight top-10 finishes across two meets on Friday.
UDM competed in Notre Dame's Blue & Gold Invitational as well as Saginaw Valley State's Holiday Open.
Senior
Jaden McKenzie had the best finish on the day, earning a bronze in the 300-meters with a time of 34.77 at Notre Dame. Junior
Nicholas Johnson also took home a top 10 finish in the race, claiming seventh in 35.09.
Freshman
Joey DeCasas was fifth in the long jump (6.84m) and triple jump (13.29m) at Notre Dame, while freshman
Deon Robertson was fifth in the high jump at SVSU with a leap of 1.94-meters.
Sophomore
James Wallace was ninth in the 60m clocking 6.94, and freshman
Angelo Finnie Jr. placed ninth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.56, both at Notre Dame.
The final top-10 mark came in the 400-meter relay as McKenzie, Finnie Jr., junior
Mike Ferguson, and senior
Antonio Talley combined for a time of 3:21.23 for third.
Meanwhile, at SVSU, senior
Nicholas Fringer posted a PR by over 30 seconds in the 5,000m, taking 20th in 15:31.27.
The Titans will now break for Christmas and return to action on Jan. 16, when they head back to Saginaw Valley for the SVSU Classic.
