DETROIT (12/5/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team saw one school record shattered and another tied as the Titans began the indoor season at Notre Dame's Blue & Gold Invitational as well as Saginaw Valley State's Holiday Open on Friday.
Overall, the team tallied six top-10 finishes in the two meets.
Competing at SVSU, sophomore
Lyla Mullins earned a silver in the shot put with a school-record toss of 13.84-meters, besting Ashley Bauman 13.79m mark in 2005.
At Notre Dame, freshman
Imani Sharp tied the school 60-meters record with a time of 7.65 for third, sharing the mark with Hall-Of-Famer Shireese Statin's time in 1998.
Graduate senior
Abby Winkle claimed fourth in the 400m at Notre Dame in 58.08, ahead of freshman
Mia Seaton's 1:00.15 for eighth.
Sophomore
Julia Young was seventh in the triple jump at SVSU with a leap of 10.01m, and the 4x400-meter relay squad of Winkle, Seaton, junior
Gabriela Gashaj, and sophomore
Audrey Williams was fifth at Notre Dame in 4:01.63.
The Titans will now enjoy the Holiday break before getting back to action in 2026, starting with a trip back to Saginaw Valley State on Jan. 16.
