Drakos, Glei Post Runner-Up Efforts In Final Day At Oakland

Sophomore Andrew Drakos was second in the 400-meter hurdles at Oakland.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (4/18/2026) -- Two hurdles earned silver, and three other performances were bronze as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team finished up Oakland's Elaine Leigh Invitational on a rainy and windy Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Weston Glei was second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.40, while sophomore Andrew Drakos was just behind the winner in the 400mH with a time of 57.88.

Freshman Deon Robertson was also in the top three of an event, finishing third in the high jump at 1.95 meters.

The 4x100 team of seniors Antonio Talley and Jaden McKenzie and freshmen Micah Chaney and Joey DeCasas was third in 43.33, while the 4x400 quarter of Talley, McKenzie, and freshmen Kwaku Awuah and Luke Hansen claimed third in 3:30.96.

The opening day saw DeCasas win the long jump, senior Joshua Otten placing second in the 5,000m with a career time of 14:49.82, ninth in school history, and freshman Colin Murray break a rookie record with his second-place effort of 3:53.78 in the 1,500m, fifth overall in Titan history.

UDM will have one final week of competition, taking a group of competitors to the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open next week.
