Men's Golf Set For Five Fall Events

Junior Harshan Juttu and the Titans will have a busy fall slate.

DETROIT (7/29/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team will be on campus in about a month, and the Titans will start the new year with five tournaments in the fall.

Four of the events are familiar to UDM, while one new outing has hit the docket.

The Titans will begin the year with the Virtues Intercollegiate, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. Last year, the red, white and blue was 13th with a 919 (308-304-307).

The new tournament added is a trip to West Virginia for the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invite, held at the Guyan Country Club Sept. 13-14.

In October, Detroit Mercy will compete in Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational at the Lakewood Country Club from Oct. 5-6. It will be the 13th time in the past 14 years that the Titans will be in the field.

The Titans will stay close to home by playing in the CMU Motor City Match-Up for the third-straight season. This year's event will be on Oct. 12-13 at the Birmingham Country Club in nearby Birmingham.

The final test of the fall will see the team at the Xavier Invitational for the third-straight year, contested at the Maketewah Country Club from Oct. 19-20.

The Titans are set to return a veteran core with three seniors and three juniors on their nine-man roster. The three seniors in Gowtham Nalluri, Mason Sokolowski and David Swab have all played at least 70 rounds in their first three years and rank in the top 15 in school history in scoring average.

Just last month, the program announced a new home in the Plum Hollow Country Club in Southfield, Mich.
