INDIANAPOLIS (4/30/2026) -- University of Detroit Mercy graduate senior
Ariel Chang made a charge for a championship and ended her career with All-League honors as the Horizon League announced its postseason awards. In addition, junior
Gabriella Tapp was tabbed the Co-Sportsmanship Award winner.
Chang earned her third All-Conference award and her second as a First Team selection, just the fifth Titan in school history to record three All-League honors.
She led the Titans with a 77.0 average on the year, posting three top-20 efforts and a pair of top-five performances. She just shared first at the Horizon League Championship with a 229 (75-74-80). She was also tied for fourth at Bowling Green's Dolores Black Falcon Invite with a 153 (76-77), and shared 20th at Central Michigan's A-Ga-Ming Invitational, shooting a season-low 226 (74-72-80).
Chang ended her career as the all-time leader in career averages with a 76.05 in 58 rounds out on the links, registering 20 top-20 events and 16 top-10 finishes.
Tapp started seven of the eight events and posted a career-best 80.2 average, but it was her spirit and attitude that earned her the Co-Sportsmanship Award in golf. She serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Horizon League SAAC, and has represented the Titans at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.
