Jones, Kondel Take Home Title At GAM Women's Four Ball Championship

DETROIT (8/4/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team saw a pair of student-athletes raise a trophy in the summer amateur season as junior Morgan Jones and sophomore Sadie Kondel claimed the Golf Association of Michigan's 16th Annual Women's Four Ball Championship.

The Titan tandem won the two-round event with an 11-under 133 (67-66) at the Washtenaw Golf Club. They tied for first and had to go to a playoff against Stetson teammates Bridget Butler and Elizabeth Eberle, but were able to down the pair from the South.

Also playing with her former Eastern Michigan teammate was senior Gabriella Tapp, who teamed with Sophia Wygonik to finish seventh with a 2-over 146 (74-72).

Detroit Mercy will have a full slate of fall golf when it returns to school, opening play on the last weekend of August.
