Five Titans Tabbed WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (7/13/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team posted a 3.50 GPA during the year, and for that effort, five Titans were named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

Senior Taylor Kondel, junior Gabriella Tapp, sophomores Morgan Jones and Emma McKinley, and freshman Sadie Kondel all took home the highest academic honor in the sport.

Taylor earned the honor in all four of her campaigns in the red, white, and blue, just the third Titan to receive the accolade all four seasons, following Shana Murphy '21 and Kendall Payne '21.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
