2009: Played in six games with two starts coming in the final to games of the season, at Denver and at Air Force…Attempted one shot on the year against the Pioneers… A member of the AD Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit: A two-sport star in high school, Nichols earned three letters in football and lacrosse. A team captain since his sophomore season, he left Kettle Moraine as the school's all-time leader in assists, goals and points, leading the Lasers in goals as a sophomore and senior and assists as a junior and senior.

Personal: Full name is Zachary Nichols...Son of Jenni and Thomas Nichols...Has two siblings...The latest member of his family to play collegiate sports following his three uncles who played college basketball and football for University of Wisconsin-Platteville and University of Wisconsin-Eu Claire as well as a cousin who played linebacker for the Air Force Academy and a cousin who played volleyball for Saint Louis...A digital media studies major.
