2009: Played in all 11 games with three starts…One of the Titans’ best offensive weapons ending the year fifth with 11 points, sixth with seven goals and four assists for fourth on the team…Took 45 shots with 30 on goal (.667)… Picked up nine groundballs…Assisted on the first goal in Titan history setting up Scott Harris’ marker at Ohio State…Scored his first Division I goal the next week at Bellarmine…Posted his first multi goal game at Quinnipiac ending the contest with two scores…Recorded a goal and an assist at Presbyterian…Had a season-high three groundballs at Denver...Won 2-of-6 face-offs… A member of the AD Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit:. A three-time all-conference award winner for Michigan State, he ended his Spartan career as a captain his senior season, where he was named team MVP. In high school, Schumacher earned three letters in lacrosse and hockey and garnered all-state accolades as a sophomore, junior and senior on the lacrosse field. He was also a team captain his junior and senior season in lacrosse and hockey.

Personal: Full name is Michael James Schumacher…Son of Marsha and Stephen Schumacher…Has a twin sister…His dad played collegiate baseball at Wisconsin...Enjoys playing sports, relaxing, fishing and hunting...Born on March 22, 1986… Currently enrolled in graduate school at UDM to pursue his master’s in economics.
