Darkness Halts Golfers At llinois State

The Titan men's golfers stood sixth after one round of the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate and look to move up in the standings when play resumes on Monday morning.

The second round was halted Sunday night by darkness. The teams will return to the Weibring Golf Club in Normal, IL to play their last three holes, then will move on to Round 3 before a champion is declared.

Playing in blustery temperatures that never rose above 42 degrees on Sunday, Detroit – ranked 87th nationally this week in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings – shot 302 as a team in Round 1, just one shot out of fourth and nine off the pace set by host Illinois State. Senior David Byrne led UDM with an opening score of 73.
