Luck had to be on Detroit's side eventually after some tough setbacks, but the Titans made sure that Friday's match would not come down to the end as the red, white and blue rolled past Valparaiso, 7-0, at the Franklin Athletic Club.
“We needed this one bad,” said head coach
Grant Asher. “We know what we need to do from here on to play in the Horizon League championships and we started off with a very strong doubles play.”
The Titans (7-9, 1-3 HL) did not drop one match to Valparaiso (2-10, 0-2 HL) and suffered only two losing sets on the night.
