Titans golfer Jeff Clarridge (Barrie, ON/Bear Creek) put in his best performance yet as an entrant in the Ontario Men's Amateur, tying for fifth place at the 2010 Championship which ended this weekend.
The tournament was staged at Idylwylde Golf & County Club in Sudbury, ON.
A senior at UDM in the fall, Clarridge – who won a local qualifier with a sizzling round of 66 to gain entry into the tournament – opened the provincial championship with a matching pair of 71's. He posted a 76 in Round 3, then closed with a three-under-par 69 to finish the tournament at one-under 287, just six off the winning pace.
David Byrne (Essex, ON/Essex), the 2010 Horizon League Player of the Year and a May UDM graduate, tied for 13th place in the final standings (74-69-75-74-292). Clarridge's classmate, Britt Pronk (London, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas), tied for 22nd (75-73-72-77-297).
