TOLEDO, Ohio (10/13/12)- Nino Sujashvili and Valeryia Kulikouskaya won first and second singles, respectively, while the doubles pair of
Raina Halabi and
Chloe Karoub went undefeated to take third flight doubles as the University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team came away with a victory at the Toledo Invitational.
Karoub and Halabi started the day with an 8-6 victory in doubles against Bowling Green and added an 8-3 win against Duquesne.
Julia Fernandes and Sujashvili also defeated Duquesne, 8-2, to help UDM earn the point in the second doubles match of the day.
Sujashvili won, 6-1, 6-2, at first doubles and Kulikouskaya was victorious at second singles, 7-6, 6-2, while Halabi won at fifth singles, 7-6 (5), 6-2, and Strakhova clinched the victory with a, 6-4, 6-2, victory at sixth singles.
Detroit will finish the fall season with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament in Chicago, Ill. on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
