WATTS
The Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) is the name of the facility that will host the 2014 championships. The WATTS first hosted the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2012 and Youngstown State has hosted each of the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships since the 2011 season. The last team before YSU to host the indoor championships was Detroit as the 2010 championships were held in Ann Arbor. Click HERE for more information including a video feature of the facility.

Last Week
The Titans sent a small group of student-athletes to Grand Valley State to participate in the GVSU Tune-Up on Friday while a larger group of student-athletes went to Ann Arbor to compete in Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Saturday.

Last Week's Horizon League Top Field Athletes of the Week
Senior Lauren Berlin from the women's team and freshman Ilia Panev of the men's side were mentioned among the Horizon League Top Field Athletes of the Week. Berlin recorded a season-best of 11.62m in the shot put at the Silverston Invitational to place fifth in the event.

Last Week's Horizon League Top Runners of the Week
On the track, the Top Indoor Runners in the Horizon League from the Titans last week were freshman Ryan Leahy representing the men's team and sophomore Allison Garner from the women's team.  Leahy ran the 3000 meter distance race at Michigan and finished 14th with a time of 8:51.50. Garner posted two third place finishes in Ann Arbor as she ran both the 60 meters and the 200 meters. Garner finished the 60m with a mark of 7.87 and the 200m with a time of 26.28 edging out junior teammate Jasmine Greene in both races.

Comeback
At the GVSU Big Meet, graduate student Shannon Marchant posted the best finish for Detroit at the meet. Marchant made her debut in the 800m that saw her finish in second place in a field of 34. With her time of 2:15.34, she was able to post the fourth-best Titan mark of all-time. Marchant has struggled with injuries throughout her Titan career and in her fifth year this season, she has performed well for Detroit. She helped the distance medley relay team break a UDM indoor record at Youngstown State on Feb. 8 running the 800m portion and then she helped the Titans break a second UDM indoor record at Grand Valley State on Feb. 15 in the 4x400 meter relay.  At the Red Simmons Invitational at Michigan, Marchant ran the 600 meter race and finished third setting a personal best of 1:36.84 and to move into the No. 2 all-time mark in the Titan top ten.

Third Time is the Charm
Senior Eric Lewis has won the weight throw in the last two Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships. Lewis will look for his third straight but will have to go through tough competition including freshman Connor Neu of Youngstown State who currently leads the league with a weight throw of 20.40m with Lewis second at 18.78m. Lewis' career-mark is 19.36m set at the 2013 indoor championships.
