KALAMAZOO, Mich. (4/18/2014) --
Junior Jay Joshi had wins in singles and doubles on Friday as the University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team closed out the Horizon League schedule with a 5-2 setback to Green Bay. The match was played at Sorensen Courts on the campus of Western Michigan.

Joshi started the day by teaming with freshman Ismail Kadyrov as the Titan duo captured an exciting 8-7 (5) triumph over Michael Tebon and Joey Leto at No. 2.

In singles, he was the lone Detroit winner as he downed Leto, 6-4, 7-6 (1) at No. 4.

Detroit (3-15, 0-6 HL) gave first place Green Bay (15-7, 5-0 HL) all it could handle on the day taking the opening point in doubles as along with Joshi and Kadyrov's win, senior Bobby Cawood and freshman Patryk Koscielski were victorious, 8-4, at No. 3.

The never-quitting Titans showed no signs of backing down in singles as Koscielski lost a grueling 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 affair at No. 2 singles and Kadyrov fought hard in a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 defeat at No. 5. Cawood also suffered a tough 6-2, 7-5 match at the top spot.
