PERRYSBURG, Ohio (1/23/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team was simply dominant on Friday evening as the Titans cruised past Bowling Green, 6-1, at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
The win was the first of the season for Detroit, who moved to 1-2 on the year, while BGSU dropped its season opener.
The Titans won five of six singles matches by straight sets and in three of the matches, UDM did not drop a single point
Detroit got off to a quick start winning the doubles point as junior
Irina Slizovskaya and sophomore
Viktoria Laskutova defeated Leeah Floyd and Emily Witt at No. 2, 6-3, while sophomores
Anna Davydova and
Nynke Van Der Goot surged past Antonina Farrar and Sydney Seeley, 6-2, at No. 3.

The red, white and blue then took it to the Falcons in singles play as Davydova,
Van Der Goot and Laskutova all posted 6-0, 6-0, scores at No. 4, 5 and 6, respectively.
Freshman
Sasha Nionova picked up a win at top singles with a 6-3, 6-1, triumph over Harley Hutchison, while Slizovskaya was nearly perfect at No. 2 in a 6-1, 6-0, victory over Emily Witt.
Detroit will stay on the road against another Mid-American Conference opponent as it visits Eastern Michigan tomorrow in a 1:00 p.m., battle at the Chippewa Club.
