CHICAGO (4/22/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team leaned on its seniors in a big 4-3 road victory at UIC on Saturday afternoon from the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts in the Windy City.

Chance Conley powered the Titans with wins in all of their singles and doubles matches to account for all four points in Detroit Mercy's narrow win over UIC on the Flames' Senior Day.
The win makes it five in a row for Detroit Mercy as the Titans reach 5-1 in Horizon League play and 11 wins overall – the most for the program since the 1991 squad also had 11.
Stelmaszak took the first singles point for Detroit Mercy with a straight-set win of 6-2, 6-2 from No. 4 singles. Koscielski followed with a 7-6, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles to reach 6-0 in HL play and Conley clinched it with a comeback win at No. 6. Conley fell in the opening set, 3-6, but bounced back with a 6-3 win in the second and a 6-0 edge in the final frame.
The Titans clinched the doubles point to begin the match as Conley and Koscielski teamed up for a 6-4 win at No. 2, while Stelmaszak and sophomore
Adam Zychowicz picked up a 6-4 win from No. 3.
With a Green Bay loss earlier in the day, the Titans now sit in sole possession of second place in conference play heading into Sunday's showdown with undefeated Valparaiso (20-3, 6-0 HL). A Titan win would clinch the regular season title and the 1-seed heading into the Horizon League Tournament next weekend. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. EST from Valparaiso, Ind.
