YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (4/8/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team earned a tough 4-3 road win in Horizon League action at Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon from the Boardman Tennis Center.
The Titans picked up the victory by taking the doubles point and the top three lines of singles. With the result, Detroit Mercy improves to 7-11 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while YSU moves to 15-7 overall and 3-2 in league action.

Adam Zychowicz secured the point for the Titans with a 6-2 win at No. 3.
Vasheshnikov won in straight sets from No. 1, 6-3 and 6-1. Ponton followed with a 6-1, 7-6 win at No. 3 and senior
Patryk Koscielski recorded a comeback win at No. 2 after falling behind with a 6-3 loss and closing the deal with wins of 6-1 and 7-6.
Chance Conley fell in a tough three-set decision at No. 6 singles, responding from a 7-6 loss in the opening set to force a third with a win of 6-2 in the second. The senior fell on the wrong side of the decision after being edged 6-4 in the final frame.
The Titans will look to take the momentum into the matchup with Cleveland State, which is set for a Sunday morning start at 10 a.m.
