VERONA, NY (9/4/2017) -- Sophomore
Scott Sparks led the Titans for the second-straight round as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team concluded play at Missouri's Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday at Turning Stone Resort's Kaluhyat Course in Verona, New York.
The Titans moved up to 13th place after ending the event with a 966 (343-307-316) on the Par 72, 6,882-yard course.
Sparks led the way tying for 33rd with a 234 (85-73-76), while senior
Eric Macrow improved his score again and shared 46th overall with a 239 (81-80-78).
Detroit Mercy will return to action in two weeks, Sept. 24-25, when the red, white and blue compete in the NKU Collegiate Classic in Batavia, Ohio.

- This was the Titans third appearance in the event.
- Sparks rebounded from a slow start in round one to tie for the team's best score in round two with a 1-over 73 and then led the Titans on the final 18 with a 4-over 76.
- He knocked in three birdies and 11 pars in round two and two birdies and 10 pars on Monday
- Sparks led Detroit Mercy with 30 pars over the weekend.
- Macrow lowered his score in each round as he had four birdies on the weekend and 11 pars in his final round.
- Macrow was also tied for fourth in the field with a -3, 4.75 average on the Par 5's.
- Sophomore Zack Tenerowicz also got off to a slow start, but he came on with a 1-over 73 in the second round, tied for the second best score for the Titans.
- In the second round, Tenerowicz tallied five birdies and he added three more on Monday to lead the team with nine in the tournament.
- Senior Devan Schulert and redshirt freshman Jonathan Brillati also improved their score in each round.
