NASHVILLE, Tenn. (4/10/2018) -- Sophomore
Scott Sparks carded a season-low 1-under 70 to lead the Titans in their final round as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team took sixth place at Tennessee State's Big Blue Intercollegiate.
The event was the final of the regular season for the red, white and blue as they will now turn their attention to the Horizon League Championship in Florida in a couple of weeks.
Detroit Mercy shot a 288 in the final round – the third best 18 hole score on the day – and finished with an 888 (299-301-288) at the Par 71, 7,044-yard President's Reserve Course at Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sparks tied his career best with a 219 (75-74-70) and tied for 14th overall. Sophomore
Zack Tenerowicz ended his final 18 with a 2-over 73 and shared 25th with a 222 (73, 76, 73), one off his career low, and senior
Eric Macrow posted a 225 (73-74-78) to tie for 30th.
The Titans will now get ready for the league championship, which is back at the Mission Inn Resort's El Campeon Course in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, from Apr. 22-24.

- Tenerowicz's 222 was one shy of his career best that he has achieved three times
- Tenerowicz topped the team and was tied for third in the competition with 10 birdies
- Tenerowicz and Brillati were both tied for third on the course's Par 3's with an even, 3.00 average
- Macrow was second on the team and tied for sixth overall with 39 pars
- Schulert missed the first round with an injury, but came back to fire a 1-over 72 in the final round
- Brillati's 228 was a stroke shy of his season-low 227 that he registered at the Motown Collegiate
- Douglass was tied for 10th in the field with seven birdies
