Antoine Davis' outside shooting that saw his break the NCAA record for freshman 3-pointers, held by current NBA superstar Stephen Curry.
February 28, 2019, will always be a special date in Titan Territory as Davis connected on four trifectas against IUPUI, the first in the first half tying the NCAA freshman record. Just three minutes into the second half, Davis nailed his second of the game and number 123 on the season to break the previous mark of 122 that Curry recorded at Davidson in 2006-07.
He finished his freshman year with 132 triples, the second most in school history and the fifth most in the Horizon League record book, while ranking in the top five in the country in 3-pointers per game (4.40-second) and total 3-pointers (132-fifth).
It didn't take long for Davis to show the nation his shooting skills as he drained his first-ever 3-point shot taken at Western Michigan and ended with a team-high 32 points in his debut, going 12-of-26 from the field with six 3-pointers.
He backed that up in his second collegiate game with a team-high 30 at Temple, finishing that contest 11-of-21 from the field and 6-of-13 from behind the arc.
He played in 30 games on the season and hit a 3-pointer in every game, including 16 games with four or more, 12 with five or more and twice tying a school record with 10 triples in wins over Loyola Maryland and Wright State.
