DeCasas Leads Batch Of Top Three Finishes At Eastern Michigan

Freshman Joey DeCasas won the long jump at EMU.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (1/24/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team recorded nine top-three finishes at Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial on Saturday.

Freshman Joey DeCasas led the way, winning the long jump with a mark of 7.22 meters, third in school history, while also taking second in the triple jump at 13.36m. He also ran a leg on the third-place 4x400 quartet.

The top 4x400 team of seniors Jaden McKenzie and Antonio Talley, and juniors Mike Ferguson and Nicholas Johnson took gold, posting a time of 3:23.72.

Freshman Deon Robertson earned silver in the high jump at 1.90m, while freshman Nickolas Henson was third in the long jump, leaping 6.86m.

McKenzie claimed third in the 300-meters in 35.41, while in distance, senior Joshua Otten was third in the 1,000m in 2:30.81, and sophomore Ryan Belanger was third in the 3,000m in a career-best 8:47.14.

The Titans will be back in action next week, with some competing at Notre Dame and some members at Saginaw Valley.
