DETROIT (2/4/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's track and field teams will have an international feel this week as most of the Titans will cross the border into Canada, while a few will run at Michigan.
The majority of the team will be at the Windsor Team Challenge, set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7, while senior
Claire Hunt and freshmen
Avan Hinkle and
Colin Murray will run the mile at Saturday's U-M Invitational.
The Titans posted one more win for the indoor campaign as freshman
Joey DeCasas won the long jump at Notre Dame in a school-record 7.58 meters. The mark earned him the Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week, the first Titan to win it for the indoor season since 2013.
For the women, Hunt led the way, placing third in the 5,000 meters at Saginaw Valley in 17:53.52.
Through the first half of the season, several Titans are holding top 10 spots in the Horizon League.Â
On the men's side, DeCasas leads the way with the top mark in the high jump and is also 10th in the triple jump. Fellow freshman
Nickolas Henson is also seventh in the long jump.
Murray leads three titans in the top 10 in the 5,000m, ranking second, ahead of junior
Christopher Russelburg at seventh and sophomore
Ryan Belanger at ninth.Â
Sophomore
James Wallace is tied for third in the 60m, senior
Jaden McKenzie is sixth in the 400m, and freshman
Angelo Finnie Jr. is eighth in the 60-meter hurdles.
In throws, sophomore
Jesse Lietzow is 10th in the shot put, and senior
Anthony Yip is 10th in the weight.
In the women's ranking, freshman
Nadia Hill tops the high jump at 1.75m, while sophomore
Lyla Mullins is third in the shot put.Â
Freshman
Imani Sharp is fifth in the 60M, graduate senior
Abby Winkle is 10th in the 400m, and freshman
Abigail Mullings is 10th in the triple jump.
