DETROIT (1/31/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team recorded several season lows as the Titans wrapped up meets at Notre Dame and at Saginaw Valley on Saturday.
Senior Jaden McKenzie ran a season-best 49.05 for 11th in the 400 meters at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame. He also teamed with senior Antonio Talley and freshmen Angelo Finnie Jr. and Joey DeCasas for a seventh-place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 3:20.69.
At Saginaw Valley's Jet Invite, freshman Deon Robertson earned fifth in the high jump at 1.94 meters, while freshman Avan Hinkle clocked a time of 8:55.77 in the 3,000 meters for 21st.
In the opening day of Notre Dame on Friday, DeCasas broke the school's long jump record with a leap of 7.58 meters, surpassing Angelo Finnie's 7.49m jump in 2003, to earn the win. The jump is currently 25th in Division I on the year, while freshman Colin Murray set a Titan rookie record in the 5,000m, taking eighth in 4:30.23 and moving ahead of the previous record holder in Ben Kendell's 14:37.08 run in 2015.
The Titans will be back in action next week as the squad will split up again between the Michigan Invitational and the Windsor Team Challenge.
