MATCH RESULTS
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (3/1/13) - The Detroit men's tennis team fell to Duquesne, 5-2, in a late night evening match held at the Franklin Athletic Club, the indoor home of the Titans.
Cesar Escobar Serrano crept even closer to the all-time singles record with a win at third singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Freshman
Rafael Orantes won his third-straight match cruising to a 6-2, 6-2, win at sixth singles.
In doubles action,
Alex Latosinsky and
Mike Basha were victorious at first doubles, 8-6.
Latosinsky dropped a hard fought match at first singles. After going up in the first set three games to none, he dropped six of the next 10 games to lose the set. He then responded by taking the second set, 6-4, and took the third set to a tie break, but ended up falling short by a score of 7-4.
Detroit will open Horizon League play when it travels to Youngstown State on March 23, and then will join the women for a double header at Cleveland State the day after (3/24).
