YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (3/23/13) – The Detroit men's tennis team fell in its Horizon League opener to Youngstown State, 4-3, on Saturday in Youngstown, Ohio.
Cesar Escobar Serrano crept one more win closer to the all-time wins record at UDM with his fifth-straight win coming at third singles, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
Pablo Nunez captured another point for Detroit with a, 6-2, 7-5, victory at fifth singles.
Jay Joshi and Nunez combined to take second doubles, 9-7, and
Chris Cheung and
Rafael Orantes secured the doubles point with a 9-8 win at third doubles.
The Titans fell to 4-9 (0-1 HL) and the Penguins improved to 7-5 (1-0 HL). Detroit will stay in Ohio and play Cleveland State on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
