DETROIT (2/4/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's tennis teams will have a big weekend ahead with three home matches and another ranked opponent on the schedule.
The action gets underway with a Titan doubleheader on Friday as the men's team takes on local-rival Wayne State with the women facing Toledo. Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m., at the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield.
On Saturday, the Detroit women will hit the road to battle its third ranked foe of the season as the Titans tangle with No. 75 Michigan State, while on Sunday, the UDM men will open the conference schedule against defending Horizon League champion Green Bay with a 6:00 p.m., match at the Franklin Athletic Club.
The Titan women enter this weekend at 2-4, but two of the losses have been to nationally-ranked programs in Notre Dame and Tennessee. The Titans will also look for a couple of huge wins as they are 2-16 all-time against Toledo and 0-6 versus Michigan State.
The Rockets come into the match at 2-2 with a win over HL-rival UIC, while MSU is 3-1, including a victory over Oakland and Eastern Michigan.
