Titans Earn Two Wins, Nine Top Three Efforts On Friday

Junior Christopher Russelburg earned a silver in the mile at SVSU.

DETROIT (2/20/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team saw a pair of wins from its jumping unit en route to nine medal performances on Friday across two meets.

Freshman Joey DeCasas won the long jump at Michigan's Silverston Invitational with a mark of 7.34 meters and was also second in the triple jump at 12.59m.

Freshman Nickolas Henson won the triple with a season-best leap of 13.40m and was second in the long in a season-high 7.05m, sixth in UDM history.

Sophomore Kyle Falls claimed third in the triple at 12.58m, while freshman Isaiah Fox and sophomore Jack Gonzalez were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the long jump.

In the high jump, freshman Deon Robertson was runner-up at a career-best 2.00m, fifth in school history, while rookie Weston Glei took fifth at 1.85m.

At the SVSU Tune-Up, junior Christopher Russelburg won a silver in the mile with a career-best 4:16.67.

Freshman Angelo Finnie Jr. was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.39, and senior Anthony Yip was fourth in the weight with a throw of 14.91m, Senior Joshua Otten claimed fourth in the mile, crossing the finish line in a PR of 4:11.63, third in the school record book, ahead of freshman Colin Murray's 4:11.97, sixth in Titan history.

Detroit Mercy will now get ready for the Horizon League Championships next week at Youngstown State.
