SAGINAW, Mich. (1/16/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team took home three gold performances at the SVSU Classic on Friday.
Freshman
Colin Murray led six Titans in the top 10 in the 3,000 meters by winning the race in 8:40.29.
Another rookie also had a win as
Nickolas Henson had the top mark in the long jump at 6.76 meters, while placing second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.18m.
The 4x400 team of seniors
Jaden McKenzie and
Antonio Talley, and juniors
Mike Ferguson and
Nicholas Johnson clocked the best time with a 3:19.88 finish.
McKenzie also tallied a time of 49.33 for second in the 400m. Freshman
Angelo Finnie Jr. was second in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.40, while freshman
Joey DeCasas was runner-up in the long jump at 6.72m.
UDM also saw junior
Christopher Russelburg with a bronze effort in the 3,000m with a time of 8:48.56, and freshman
Deon Robertson was third in the high jump, clearing 1.89m.
The Titans will return to competition next week when they make the short trip to Ypsilanti for Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial.
