Biography

2013: Ended one of the best careers in Titan and MAAC history with a host of accolades, including the Detroit Defensive Player of the Year and Co-MAAC LSM of the Year… Was also selected Detroit’s first-ever USILA Scholar All-American and earned a spot on the South’s squad in the USILA North-South College All-Star Game – the first Titan to ever appear in the contest… Played in all 15 games and led the team with 73 ground balls – fourth in the MAAC and first among non-faceoff specialist – and was second tallying 35 caused turnovers – second in the conference… Also posted three goals and two assists for five points… Finished sixth in the nation with 2.33 caused turnovers per game, the fourth-straight season he has been in the top six in that category… Recorded a caused turnover in 14 of his 15 games, including three or more on five occasions… His 4.87 ground balls per game was fifth in the MAAC – and the most among non-faceoff specialist – as well as tied for 38th in the nation… Led the team with 13 penalties and 11.5 minutes of infraction time… Had a game-high six caused turnovers with six ground balls at Robert Morris… Picked up five ground balls and put in his first goal of the season against Quinnipiac… Had two caused turnovers and seven GB’s at Marist… Took the ball away three times with five loose balls in the win over VMI… Tallied two caused turnovers, five ground balls and a goal in the downing of Manhattan… Picked off two passes and came away with eight GB’s at Marquette… Posted three caused turnovers, four ground balls and netted a goal in the MAAC Semifinals win over top-seeded Marist… A great game in the first round of the NCAA Championship finishing with a game-high three caused turnovers and nine ground balls… A member of the UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the MAAC’s All-Academic Team and Honor Roll… A preseason candidate for the 2013 Senior Class Award®… Tabbed an Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse as well as to the publication’s preseason All-MAAC Team… Helped lead a defense that finished in the top three in the nation in caused turnovers all four of his years and as the NCAA's all-time leader in caused turnovers with 158… Graduated tied for first with 61 games played… He also picked up 289 career ground balls and scored 14 points with nine goals… Represented Team Canada In the ‘Duel In Denver’ against Team USA in September.

2012: Earned the MAAC LSM Of The Year for the second-straight season…Also finished second in the nation for the second-straight year with 2.53 caused turnovers per game…Finished the season with 39 caused turnovers and 66 ground balls, leading the MAAC in caused TO’s and third in GB’s…His 4.4 ground balls per game was fourth in the conference and 33rd in the nation… Had eight games on the year with three or more caused turnovers and 11 games with four or more ground balls…Recorded a season-high five caused turnovers on the road at Manhattan, while also picking up eight ground balls …Started the year with four caused TO’s and five ground balls at No. 19 Delaware…Posted four caused turnovers and six ground balls at No. 6 North Carolina and at Quinnipiac…Tallied four more caused turnovers at Mercer and against Jacksonville, while adding five ground balls versus the Dolphins…Corralled a season-high 10 ground balls and caused two turnovers in the win over Michigan…Scored a goal against Bellarmine and handed out an assist at Quinnipiac… Took just seven shots with four on goal…Tied for second on the squad with eight penalties…A recipient of the UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2011: A fantastic season that saw him earn MAAC LSM of the Year, Second Team All-MAAC, MAAC All-Tournament and team MVP…Set career highs in every statistic… Led a Titan defensive effort that led the nation in caused turnovers at 11.63 per game…Played in all 16 games and was second in the nation with 3.25 caused turnovers per game and 11th in ground balls picking up 6.06 per game…He trailed only Brian Karalunas (4.38) of Villanova – a senior and three time USILA All-American – in the caused turnover category…His 97 GB's were also second in the MAAC…Found the back of the net four times, while handing out two assists… Had a great game in the MAAC tournament semifinals victory over Marist scoring two goals – including the game winner breaking an 8-8 game in the fourth – grabbing six ground balls and forcing three turnovers…Started the year by tying his own school record with six caused turnovers at Delaware…Also picked up nine ground balls in that game…Had 10 GB’s and three caused turnovers at Bellarmine and 10 GB’s with four caused TO’s against Robert Morris…Set a school record with 11 ground balls and forced six turnovers in a home win over Mercer…Had a goal – which turned out to be the game winner - to go with nine ground balls and three caused TO’s in the victory over Siena…Once again tied the school record with six caused turnovers and picked up seven GB’s in an overtime victory versus Canisius… An aggressive defender, he also topped the team with 20 penalties and 19.5 minutes of time in the box.

2010: Another freshmen who made a major impact for Detroit earning the Titan Defensive Player of the Year at the annual team banquet… Helped Detroit finish third in the nation with 10.47 caused turnovers and 19th with 32.2 ground balls per game…Was second on the team with 53 ground ball pick-ups, while his 32 caused turnovers led the team...That number also led the MAAC, while his total caused turnover mark was the highest for any freshmen in the country…Finished sixth in the country in caused TO’s per game (2.13), forcing a turnover in 14 of UDM’s 15 games, including a career and program record six at Manhattan...Had three or more caused turnovers in six games…Posted a season-high five ground balls in four games (Quinnipiac, Robert Morris, Lehigh, Wagner)…Scored his only goal of the year at Manhattan taking a pass from his high school teammate Joel Matthews and firing it inbetween the pipes…Third on the team with 15 penalties, which totaled 12.5 minutes…A member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit: Played for the No. 1 ranked program in Canada…Led his team to two regional championships as well as a Bronze Medal at the OFSAA championships…Played club with the St. Catharines Athletic program winning the Ontario B championship in 2007…A member of the U-19 Niagara Raiders for two years, helping the team claim the Ontario A banner…He was also part of Team Ontario’s 2008 adidas Brogden Cup, scoring two goals in the title game…Joined the St. Catharines Jr. A box lacrosse team this past summer, the highest level of competition before the pro level.
