University of Detroit Mercy Athletics

Kinsman spent 35 years in service to the University, the last 25 as the Athletic Director. During his career, the Titans won 28 league Championships in 12 different sports, and nine teams advanced to NCAA Tournament play. He worked diligently to secure the 2009 NCAA men’s basketball Final Four – as well as three Regional championships – held in Detroit. He also spent 13 seasons as U-D’s golf coach before retiring in 1990, guiding the Titans to the 1987 MCC Championship. He received the University’s 2005 Mission Leadership Award.
