Ed Zaliagiris starred for the Titans from 1946-48. He posted a 9-0 record in his two seasons, with the nine-straight wins the most in school history. His 1.79 ERA is also tops in school history. In his first year, he was 4-0 with a 1.00 ERA, the third-best single-season ERA, and held hitters to a .146 batting average. He came back with a 5-0 mark the following season. He played in the minors in the Brooklyn Dodgers farm system with the Sheboygan Indians. Before college, he served the country in World War 2 and was awarded the Silver Star "for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity against the enemy" while serving with the 104th Infantry Division.
