Corej was a slick-fielding third baseman who was known the most for his work with the bat. He had a .420 batting average in 1960, the fifth best one-year performance in Titan history. He also paced the team that season in at-bats (100), triples (4), and games played (25). He hit a solid .354 batting average a year later. His .391 lifetime batting average places him second in the all-time U-D record books. He spent two seasons playing in the San Francisco Giants organization after leaving Detroit.
