He was captain of the 1950-51 team as a senior and was one of the first Titan guards to score 200 points in a season with 218 in 1950-51. He was one of U-D’s great assist men finishing second in the nation with 134 assists in 1950-51. He was also an assistant coach at U-D for 11 years (1955-56-1965-66).
