Nancy Horvat was a two-time Most Outstanding Fencer for U-D from 1980-84 and was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree and a First Team At-Large Academic as a senior. She was the first female to win 100 matches, including a 39-14 mark as a junior and a 42-16 tally as a senior. She was named the Most Outstanding Female Athlete and served as a team captain as a freshman, and led the team to its best-ever finish with 13 wins as a senior. At the end of her career, she was named the President's Award winner.
